The University was renamed as Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University Distance Education on November seventh 1996 in honour and memory of an excellent Parliamentarian Acharya N.G. Ranga, UN agency rendered outstanding altruistic service for the explanation for farmers and is thought to be an excellent specialiser, kisan leader and meliorist.
Facilities: Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University Distance Education is that the largest in India with associate infrastructure of 9 faculties, fifty eight analysis stations distributed in seven agro-climatic zones of the state, eight agricultural polytechnics, one farming engineering school, one utile engineering school, twenty two District Agricultural consultive and Transfer of Technology Centres, twelve Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Farmer Science Centre), one Agricultural Technology and data Centre and Electronic Media Wing excluding one Extension Education Institute and Agricultural data and Communication Centre.
