Indian Organization of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi (abbreviated IIT (BHU)) is a public engineering institution located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Created in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. IIT (BHU) Varanasi has 14 sections and three inter-disciplinary schools. The fee to IIT (BHU) is entirely founded on the ranks obtained in JEE Advanced, GATE or GPAT. IIT (BHU) has cooperated with the University of Cambridge (UK), University of Oxford (UK), University of Sheffield (UK). It delivers Scholar, Graduate and Doctoral programs in Manufacturing and Pharmacy

IIT (BHU) Courses and Eligibility

IIT (BHU) has 17 moot units, including 10 Engineering Departments, 3 Science Departments, 3 Interdisciplinary Schools, and 1 Humankind’s and Civic Sciences Segment. The Arrangements offered by IIT BHU are B.Tech., B.Pharm., and Integrated B.Tech. program at the Scholar level, M.Tech. and M.Pharm. at Postgraduate Level, and Ph.D. program at the Doctoral level.

B.Tech and B.Pharm Course Eligibility

At the Undergraduate level, IIT (BHU) offers a four-year B.Tech and B.Pharm degree program to the candidates. Candidates who have secured at least 75% marks or correspondent grade in 12th from a recognized board are qualified to apply for the worried courses. Admission to B.Tech and B.Pharm agendas is done through Joint Entry Examination (JEE), while candidates willing to take admission to the Joined B.Tech + M.Tech, Integrated M.Tech or B.Pharm + M.Pharm, need to appear for JEE Advanced 2018.

M.Tech and M.Pharm Course Eligibility

At postgraduate level, IIT Varanasi propositions M.Tech and M.Pharm programs to the candidates. The course is provided under 30 different specializations and the M.Pharm program is offered under four specializations. Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech and M.Pharm program must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 60% in aggregate. Admissions to the M. Tech program will be based on the marks in GATE conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institutes of Technology. For an M.Pharm program, candidates need to appear for Graduate Aptitude Pharmacy Test (GPAT).

Ph.D. Course Eligibility

The Research Program is provided under several specializations such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Science and Humanistic Science. The criteria to apply is Master’s in a relevant business discipline with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institute. Selection for the Ph.D. is done through GATE or GPAT/ DBT-JRF/ DST-INSPIRE fellowship/ NET-LS/ ICMR JRF/ CSIR/ UGC NET. Applicants will be qualified by the DPGC of the Department/ University concerned for the program.

IIT (BHU) offers Merit-cum-Means studentships to 25% of undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute.
